We are proud to unveil the modified logo of the Kerala State Biodiversity Board (KSBB). The updated design introduces blue wave motifs, symbolizing the state’s vast and interconnected aquatic ecosystems, from the Arabian Sea to intricate backwater networks and inland waterbodies. The full institutional name has been abbreviated to KSBB for consistent branding. LOGO Description The Kerala State Biodiversity Board’s Logo features four colors—Green, White, Blue, and Black—eachcarrying profound symbolic meaningand encapsulates a harmonious blend of nature, culture, and the commitment to conserve Kerala’s rich biodiversity. Green represents lush vegetation, floral biodiversity, and terrestrialecosystems, emphasizing the state’s verdant landscapes and ecological wealth. Blue highlights the vastwaterscapes, particularly marine ecosystems and the life thriving beneath. White symbolizes peace, harmoniouscoexistence with nature. Black represents carbon to reflect the fact that biodiversity is the best stock of carbon. The central branch bearing three leavesembody the Board’s triple objectives- conservation of biodiversity, sustainable use of itscomponents, and the fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from the use of genetic resources.Kathakali-Inspired Eyes within the Leafsubtly depict two curious eyes, which, combined with thewhite backdrop, form the face of Kathakali, Kerala’s iconic traditional dance form. The observant eyesalso signify KSBB’s vigilant role in safeguarding biodiversity. The inscription “KSBB” in English appears at the base, while the Malayalam rendering of “Kerala State Biodiversity Board” arches prominently above the three-leaved branch—highlighting the vital role of regionallanguage in fostering biodiversity awareness and empowering local communities as stewards of Kerala’secological heritage.
